At Last Man Standing, we believe in bringing people together through the love of functional fitness competition where athletes of all levels come together to test their physical abilities. It is a series of challenging workouts designed to mimic real-life movements. Functional fitness competitions prioritise overall fitness and athleticism over raw strength or aesthetics.
Typically, LMS will consist of several daily workouts, each with its own unique challenges. These challenges may include lifting heavy weights, performing gymnastics movements and timed high-intensity circuit exercises. Athletes will usually be scored based on their performance in each event, with points awarded for completing tasks quickly, lifting heavier weights, or performing more reps than their competitors.
One of our defining features of LMS is our focus on constantly varied workouts. Athletes never know exactly what they will be asked to do, which means that they must be prepared for anything. This requires a well-rounded training regiment that includes strength training, endurance training and skill work in a variety of different movements.
Another amazing aspect of LMS is the community that we foster. Competitors and spectators alike come together to support and encourage one another creating a sense of camaraderie and a shared purpose. This community extends beyond the competition itself, as many athletes continue to train and compete together long after the event has ended.
